The political environment of Hong Kong has been changing radically among the neighbourhood countries. 'Occupy Central' in 2011 was inspired by 'Occupy Wall Street' in the same year. Back then, nobody could have thought that there would be a 79-day 'Umbrella Movement' with thousands of people occupying the street. Democratic movement has however held up since then, whereas law and orders are breaking down at high speed. Creations are often influenced by societal changes, but the deluding images shown in commercial cinemas cannot disclose important social issues. This section hopes to stand firm and discuss the current situation of Hong Kong.
Pseudo Secular is set in Hong Kong 2011, addressing the social problems that different classes are facing while Raise the Umbrella documents the Umbrella Movement. In Out of Frame, artists in a Chinese village are placed in an absurd situation, which is, unfortunately, more and more familiar to us.
Nonetheless, everything is just a point in our timeline, we could only justify this era as the time gone by.
